NEWS | Dons to face Newcastle Thunder in pre-season

The Dons will take on Betfred Championship side Newcastle Thunder at the Eco-Power Stadium on Sunday January 22, kick-off 3pm.

The game will be one of two friendlies taking place on home soil, with the third an away game against Sheffield Eagles on January 29.

Richard Horne’s men will go up against a Thunder side who finished 12th in the Championship last season, in what was their second campaign at that level.

The last time the two sides met was in a play-off tie at Kingston Park back in 2019, with the home side coming out on top just two weeks after the Dons had beaten them 20-6 at the same venue.
